Meet Sydney Marsden for Overland Park City Council

'ellow! My name is Sydney A. Marsden, but everyone calls me Syd. I'm a Midwestern native with family ties to Overland Park for over 20 years. I grew up a die-hard Chiefs and Royals fan, animal lover, and wholly invested in my local community.

It was my community involvement that led to me becoming a Firefighter. I obtained my EMT a year later and, while finishing my Bachelor's in Business Administration on the Dean's List, began working in education as a Paraprofessional. I transitioned out of Elementary school education into Fire / EMS as I completed my Paramedic certification.

Today I continue my work as a Paramedic, Educator, and Dispatcher. And as a public servant working from the ground-up, I recognize the need for community-minded leaders in our City Council. As a champion for the community, I am committed to the service, defense, and care of Overland Park.

A truck with political campaign posters is parked in front of a building with a blue corrugated metal facade. Several cars are also parked nearby. The posters depict a man in a suit, and the text suggests support for a local candidate. The scene appears to be set in an urban area, with apartment buildings visible in the background and a slightly overcast sky.
